Iceland, globally recognized for its abundant renewable energy resources and sustainable energy policies, is emerging as a potential leader in green fuel production.

With its geothermal and hydroelectric power capabilities, Iceland has primarily used renewable energy for domestic needs, such as heating and electricity. However, the country is now poised to leverage its resources to produce and export green fuels like hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol. This paper explores Iceland’s strategic advantages, evaluates its renewable energy infrastructure, and analyzes its potential role in the global green fuels market.
